The Tuareg are a group of largely semi-nomadic people of Berber extraction residing in the Saharan interior of North-Western Africa. They are known internationally by their popular name "the Blue Men of the Sahara," because of the indigo colour of the veils and other clothing which their men wear, which sometimes stains the skin underneath.
