Before you load the figure, take a look at "Render Settings" tab and check whether they are dialed to some insane iray setting by accident. Clear the scene, switch to "Texture Shaded" in the viewport and make sure the scene IS actually clean.
If you can't find anything try uninstalling and reinstalling the Genesis 8 Starter Essentials. If your Daz performance is still in the abysmal regions, try loading the "Genesis 8 Female Dev Load" figure, not, the "Genesis 8 Basic Female". This is a stripped version of the G8F figure without any textures, so don't be surprised if it initially looks ever so slightly dull.If you can resonably work with this one, you a) now have a workaround, and b) know the basic figure got fucked somehow at some point and needs to be examined in depth.
